Kim Kulish: Corporate
and Editorial Photography
Kim Kulish has long been
committed to maintaining his place at the forefront of the latest
issues and trends, whether covering national news stories or capturing
images of some of the world's business leaders.
Award-winning Photojournalism
His interest in photography began as early as
age 11 (when he received a camera -- instead of a motor scooter
-- as a gift) and led him to the University of Florida, where he
earned a degree in journalism and garnered a number of prestigious
photography internships and awards, and worked on projects that
later earned staff Pulitzer Prizes, including the distinguished
Award for Public Service.
He earned more acclaim during his nearly nine-year
stint as a staff photographer at The (Los Angeles) Daily News, covering
major news and sports events, including brushfires, earthquakes
and the 1992 Los Angeles riots. One of Kim’s riot photos was
nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, was featured in Time magazine, and
was later selected for use by the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s
Museum of Tolerance.
On to Freelance Photography for Editorial
and Corporate Clients
In 1993, Kim decided to expand his work into
other arenas by launching a career as a freelance photographer.
He soon signed on with the prestigious agency, Saba Press Photos
(now Corbis), and made use of his versatility, from expanding
his skills as a portrait photographer
to documenting such major news events as the Columbine tragedy,
the birth of the Iowa septuplets,
the Pope’s historic visit to Cuba, and the Winter Olympics
in Salt Lake City. He has developed
an impressive roster of editorial and corporate clients including Reader's Digest, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Business Week, Newsweek, Time,
U.S. News & World Report, USA Today, Fortune, Nasdaq, Forbes,
Revolution, Challenges, More, Ms., CRN, InformationWeek, Ford, Honda, Toyota, Lucent, UBM, Gatorade,
The White House ODCP, Helen Keller Worldwide, Captain Morgan, Citrix, Ingram Micro and
many more.
Specializing
in Business and Portrait Photography in the San Francisco Bay Area
The business world continues to be one of Kim’s
areas of concentration, and he has photographed a number of CEOs for
magazine cover portraits and more in-depth, “day-in-the life”
style stories.
His library of photographic images is syndicated worldwide.
Based in the Bay Area, Kim is conveniently located
to San Francisco, the Silicon Valley and the Napa and Sonoma Valley
Wine Country. Kim looks forward to bringing his skills and insight
to your upcoming photographic project.
